Safety, efficacy and quality evaluation of traditional Thai crude drugs and remedies
General Description of Student and Researcher Activities:
Research topics based on crude drug authentication by chemical based-/ DNA based-/ biological based-; pharmacognostic specification of crude drugs with special reference to chemical active substance; in vitro, in vivo and clinical researches on biological activities/ toxicological activities of crude drugs/ traditional remedies; research publications in peer-reviewed journals/ conferences

  • Essential oil: chemical composition analysis and brain wave effect
  • Quantitative analysis of civetone and normuscone in secretion from Viverricula indica and in aromatic remedies by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry
  • Qualitative and quantitative analyses of Dendrophthoe pentandra leaves with the special reference to quercitrin marker
  • Dioscorine content in Dioscorea hispida dried tubers in Thailand by TLC-densitometry and TLC image analysis
  • Pharmacognostic specification and HPLC quantitative analysis of (+)- catechin and (-)-epicatechin in Thai crude drugs under the name of Si-Siat
  • Pharmacognostic evaluation and chrysazin quantitation of Xyris indica flowering heads
  • Pharmacognostic specification and molecular authentication of selected genera Eurycoma, Erythroxylum and Tinospora endemic to Thailand
