On January 22, 2025, Prof. Dr. Chitlada Areesantichai, Dean of the College, along with Deputy Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Montakarn Chuemchit and other faculty members from the College of Public Health Sciences, warmly welcomed esteemed guests from Babes-Bolyai University: Prof. Dr. Dan Lazar, Vice Rector; Prof. Dr. Emil Boc, Mayor of Cluj-Napoca and former Prime Minister of Romania; Prof. Dr. Catalin Baba, Director of the Doctoral School of Public Policies and Administration and former Minister of Education; and Prof. Dr. Calin Hințea, Dean of the School of Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences. The visit featured productive meetings and in-depth discussions that explored various opportunities for future academic collaboration and sharing of knowledge and expertise to further strengthen the partnership between the two institutions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wattasit Siriwong was invited to deliver a presentation on "𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝑰𝑨 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒑 1 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 2 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈" on January 13, 2025, at Meeting Room, Health Impact Assessment Division, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. This training was aimed at enhancing the capacity of health officials from ASEAN member states in health impact assessment. It also provided a platform for ASEAN member states to exchange knowledge, discuss health impact assessment practices, foster regional cooperation on health impact assessment in ASEAN, and support ASEAN health cooperation under the activities of the ASEAN Health Cluster on Responding to All Hazards and Emerging Threats (Health Priority: Environmental Health, Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and Health Impact of Climate Change). This year, 2025, the training was designated as "The Virtual Training Course on Health Impact Assessment for ASEAN Member States" and was held between January 13-15, 2025.
On 20 January 2025, at the College of Public Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, our Dean Prof. Dr. Chitlada Areesantichai, Deputy Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Montakarn Chuemchit, and other faculty members from CPHS welcomed Dr. Jorge Saavedra, Executive Director of the AHF Global Public Health Institute, and his team from AHF Thailand. The meeting focused on exploring future research collaborations concerning HIV/AIDS and migrant populations.
This visit represents a valuable step toward fostering impactful research partnerships, contributing to advancements in public health and enhancing the well-being of vulnerable populations.
